New Year's Eve 2012

Hilton currently has 9 brands: Doubletree, Hampton Inn, Hilton Garden Inn, Embassy Suites, Homewood Suites, Conrad, Waldorf Astoria, Hilton (of course), and Home2.  The Home2 is the newest hotel brand, it consists of suites and there are only 8 properties in the entire United States.  I first heard of it because the management company that owns the hotel I used to work at was building one when I left.   I was super excited about the Home2 property in Lexington Park because 1. it was brand spanking new, 2. it was close to "home" and boyfriend.  So I decided to book a room for NYE 2011.

Before I start listing the cons let me mention the pros:
1. the property is brand new
2. they have a saline pool which is neat (we were the only ones in the pool :))
....uhhh yeah, that's about it.  The suite was nice, but it wasn't anything out of the ordinary.  ohh, i did like the colors now that i think about it, the design was light and modern, which is different then the suite rooms at homewood/embassy.  So I did like that.  Oh....and they have REALLY SOFT sheets.  My boyfriend actually wanted to order some, we couldn't find them on the hilton site to order though.

Alright now to the things that I didn't like.
1. they don't have a oven or stove top (the homewood property by me doesn't have ovens either, but it does have stove tops)
2. but they have a DISHWASHER, lol.  I guess they feel most people eat out or buy microwavable food.
3. the hotel is branding itself as a "green property" so they don't have the tubes (which i like to just take for guests or my own travel use)...this isn't really a con because I do like the idea of going green, but because of this they had dispensers in the shower for just shampoo and soap, NO CONDITIONER :( I have curly, curly hair I need conditioner so my hair isn't a big poof ball. (although sometimes that happens even when I have used conditioner.

This isn't a con just an interesting tidbit, the toilet has the option of doing either a full flush or half flush.  We were pretty intrigued by this, yeah we're nerds. lol

All in all we had a wonderful stay, after we checked in we went for a swim.  Then once we got back to the room we showered, and then ordered some chinese food and made flirtinis (pineapple juice, vodka, and champagne).  We watched the ball drop and kissed at 12:00am ;)  We were even able to get a late checkout the next morning, since I was enjoying the time just chilling in the hotel room being a bum.

I guess I should come up with some sort of rating system...I don't want to do stars or anything like that but maybe I'll do a go back rating on a scale of not likely, likely, very likely....hmmm...yeah let's go with that for now.

Home2 Lexington Park
GB: Likely
For the simple fact is the newest property in that area.

Introductions

Hello, and welcome to my blog.  I recently got back into the hotel industry, and moved close to Washington, DC.  While figuring out cool stuff to do in the city, I decided I should create a blog with all of the interesting activities, restaurants, and places I experience.  I feel like there are so many things I have done in the past that I would like to share, so I'll try to back track as much as possible, but for the most part this blog will be up to date with things I'm doing at the moment.  Hope you enjoy, and if you ever have any questions please feel free to ask.  (I'm new to the blogger world so I'm hoping to pick it up as fast as I can, and charge full steam ahead)
:)
